artist statement and inspiration

“This is a changing and vulnerable work of art. Like the rise and fall of tides, governed by the gravitational pull of the Sun and the Moon. These forces influence the feelings of all, including mine during the painting's creation.

The moment is recorded and captured in a time where nature overtakes reason; where everything is fluid and governed by water.

When viewed up close, the piece is incomprehensible in the ecstatic and chaotic behaviour of its materials.

From a distance, there is a natural awareness. A calmness manifests when the work is viewed in its entirety."
